Good News For Spanish Property in 2010

Property register statistics recorded for the last quarter of 2010 indicate that the Spanish property market experienced a slight boost with slightly more properties being sold last year than in 2009.

The figures in the report by Mark Stucklin of Spanish Property Insight states that this equates to an increase of 5.38% on 2009 which is also the first time it has happened in 4 years.

As per the report, the increase can potentially be attributed to “temporary factors such as the elimination of mortgage tax relief at the start of this year, and the increase in VAT on new home sales mid-way through last year.”

The Spanish property market is also a long way off a full recovery but any increase is positive news for those in the industry and is a good indication of the expected growth to be seen across 2011.
